In 1997 Peugeot was racing in the BTCC (British Touring Car Championship) with a green and gold livery using the Ultron colours. MSD (Motor Sport Developments) took over the project from Prodrive and the results were slightly better than in 1996. In the 97 season, Tim Harvey and his n°12 Peugeot 406 came close to victory in race 2 at Thruxton. Harvey took advantage of the safety car to put on rain tyres and set off on a mad comeback. Blocked by latecomers who did not respect the blue flag, Harvey had to accept second place. The legend was born and the 406 Supertourism "Ultron" entered the history of the BTCC.
