Ford Escort Mk4 XR3i Cabriolet Diamond White 1986
If the word Escort sometimes referred to some "low-cost" models in the early 1960s, the Escort became a separate model in 1967. Two decades later, the fourth generation of the Escort was launched on the market. It was called "Mk4" for the Fordists, despite the fact that there were only a few changes compared to the previous generation (code name Erika). Moreover, this "Mk.4" was called "Erika-86" internally at Ford UK. It is funny to note that in the 80's, manufacturers and customers did not agree on the fact that this Escort was a new generation. Nevertheless, the success of the "Mk.4" is unquestionable. The XR3 version is the sportive version of this Escort. The XR3i is the sporty version of the convertible based on the Mk.4. A beautiful sporty convertible, in the purest British tradition! A monument of the automobile for Ford fans in the UK!
