Volkswagen Golf II Country Bright Blue Metallic 1990
In 1989, at the Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen presented a crazy "4x4" Golf concept car. Following a very strong demand from customers, this concept car was finally launched in production in 1990! The Golf Country was born! Volkswagen asked the Austrian company Steyr-Puch to adapt the Golf 2 Syncro with all-wheel drive to create this small 4x4. The success is immediate. Under the hood, we find the 1.8L engine of the GTI even if it is reprogrammed to adapt to off-road. But with its selling price of 119.950 Francs (27.968€), the sales quickly collapse and only 7.735 units are produced.
