The Toyota Supra Racing GT500 comes from the Super GT championship (formerly JGTC), a Japanese circuit racing series. This extreme version of the Toyota Supra Mk.4 has competed in this discipline since 1995. Despite strong performances, Toyota’s weapon only secured the championship title in 1997, driven by Pedro de la Rosa and Michael Krumm. With its Castrol livery, Toyota’s official motorsport partner at the time, it became an icon of the series. Worldwide, the car gained popularity thanks to the video game Gran Turismo. A true icon of the first automotive simulation on the PlayStation 1, the Supra GT500 captivated an entire generation of players and became one of the symbols of the franchise.
The OT494 is a 1/18-scale miniature, made of resin, with no opening parts. This scale model reproduces the Toyota Supra Racing GT500 entered in the JGTC. Featuring its Castrol livery, this collectible miniature is aimed at motorsport enthusiasts and video game fans alike.
