Pack VW LT35 + Audi Quattro A2 Tour de Corse 1983
At the 1983 Tour de Corse, Audi unveiled the A2 version of its quattro. More powerful and lighter, the new car was the German team's answer to the Lancia 037. At the wheel are future 83 world champion Hannu Mikkola and reigning vice-world champion Michèle Mouton. On the "rally of 10,000 corners", the 037s outrageously dominated the competition. With five stages to go, Michèle Mouton saw her car burst into flames, while Mikkola was forced to retire after going off the road. But that didn't stop the A2 quattro from becoming a rally legend, with its legendary engine sound!
