Renault 11 Ph.2 Turbo Blanc 348 1987
It was Robert Opron, ex-designer for Citroën, who launched the project codenamed L42 when he arrived at Renault. The project quickly became the Renault 11 in 1982, when the latter was officially commercialised. In 1983, the Renault 11 series grew with the launch of a sports version of the car: the Renault 11 Turbo. With its three-door configuration, it had the daunting task of taking on the impressive Volkswagen Golf GTI! With a near-prehistoric Cleon engine (derived from the Renault 5 Alpine engine) that was equipped a Garrett Turbo to ensure it could reach 115 horsepower, the car could reach a top speed of 200 km/h.
