Wie fast jede Saison beginnt auch die Rallye-Weltmeisterschaft 1992 mit der prestigeträchtigen Rallye Monte Carlo. Ford setzt zwei lateinamerikanische Fahrer ein: François Delecour und Miki Biasion. Der Italiener, ein ehemaliger Lancia-Fahrer, gibt sein Debüt mit seinem neuen Team bei einer Rallye, die er bereits zweimal (1987 und 1989) gewonnen hat. Im Ziel wurde er "nur" Achter, umringt von den beiden offiziellen Nissan Sunny GTI-R, während Delecour das Podium knapp verfehlte. In Anlehnung an Biasion wurde die Rallye von einem Lancia gewonnen.
