The Jeep Cherokee XJ that came out at the end of 1983 was, despite its traditionally American appearance, a collaborative piece between Renault and American Motors. The goal was to make a car that would suit a European market. More compact than the previous generation and more conventional in its design, it was the first Jeep to conquer Europe, and was on the market for nearly 18 years!
