When it first appeared in 1982, this version of the Series 3 seemed much like its predecessor. Despite its traditional appearance, however, the structure was completely redesigned. Having today achieved cult status, this little BMW was able to become so successful that it never stopped being famous. It became quickly synonymous with the Sedan concept of the sports car, and would remain etched in the minds of sports amateurs. The Touring version would bring a additional soupçon of elegance, enticing any Golden Boy of the Eighties.
