Did you know that Jean Ragnotti has driven cars other than Renault? For instance, this Jidé 1600 S! Admittedly, under the bonnet there is a Renault engine, but the rest of the car is manufactured in the workshops of Jacques Durand in Châtillon-sur-Thouet (Deux-Sèvres). In 1972, a talented young driver decided to try something other than Opels to give his career a new boost. Thus, Jean Ragnotti took part in four rallies that season with the Jidé. He won his best result at the Critérium des Cévennes where he finished 7th behind four Alpine A110s, an Opel Ascona and an Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV. Years later, when the Jidé brand had ceased to exist, the popularity of Jean Ragnotti suddenly created a lot of hype for the "Jidé 1600 S".
