Philippe Bugalski's career is synonymous with the Renault Clio Maxi. Derived from the Clio Williams, it adopted the kit-car regulation dedicated to rallying. It differed from the group A version with its widened wings on each side. 17” wheels decorate the car alongside a fin; meanwhile, the engine was completely reviewed. Also driven by Jean Ragnotti, it was engaged in the French league by Bugalski. During the various stages the Renault Master fulfilled its role as a workshop truck and in the evening the driver could take to the road to return home with his racing car behind him.
