The M3 E36 that came out in 1992 marked a profound evolution compared to the previous E30 version. The design was completely revised and the mechanical side was utterly new. The M3 went from 4 to 6 cylinders, reaching 286 horsepower. In 1996, the 3.2L reached 321 horsepower and the gearbox got an upgrade to 6 gears. This particular iteration remains for many car lovers “The M3” even to this day. With its numerous awards, it was elected "car of the 20th century" by Auto Plus and "most manageable car" by the American magazine Car and Driver.
