The 306 Maxi was the Queen of Kit-cars, notably on asphalt. In the hands of Gilles and Hervé Panizzi, it placed first in a great many French rally championships. It also made several appearances in the WRC. The 306 Maxi was, for lack of a better word, terrifying to its rivals after the number of victories it had secured. In 1996 the Panizzi brothers entered the mythical Tour de Corse under the number 7. After a long and arduous struggle, they finished second.
