The Citroën ZX was fairly modern but considered somewhat too “shy” when it first appeared on the market. In order to boost sales, and to commercially accompany the success of the ZX at Dakar, Peugeot developed a sports version of the compact car. It was how well the car handled on the road that was pushed as the ZX’s biggest selling point, and included ventilated disc brakes, a sports chassis  and the famous auto-steering rear axle. With its 4-cylinder, 2L 150 horsepower engine, the ZX 16V immediately joined the ranks of other sports car. Nowadays, the model is particularly sought after amongst Youngtimer collectors.
