After a fairly disappointing 206 S16 Peugeot had to react and offer a sporty version of its car to match the success of the lioness in the World Rally Championship. Thus the 206 RC was born in 2003. Peugeot's tour de force was to offer a sports version stripped of its elements of comfort and various gadgets while being equipped with enough options to be more desirable and less “Cheap” than other GTIs. The other trump card of this 206 RC was its engine. Prepared by Lotus Engineering the 2.0L with its melodious sound has a total of 177hp! At the time, it was a record for a small city car and it allowed it to outperform the competition (the Clio RS notably with its 172 horsepower).
