The Coupé 180 SX appeared in 1988 and was marketed in Japan through two different networks of concessionaries. This gave birth to a twin of the car renamed as the Nissan Silvia. Quickly becoming a household name, it was eventually sold on all six continents, notably in Europe under the name of 200 SX, and in America under the name 240 SX. The quality of its chassis associated with a reasonable weight/power ratio made this coupé maintain its fame throughout the years.
