Tommi Mäkinen is the first driver to become a four-time world rally champion. Those were the golden days when the flying Finn drove for Mitsubishi. Before arriving at Ralliart, Mäkinen made a name for himself at the wheel of a large variety of cars. Such was the case during the 1991 season, when he made his debut in the premier class (Group A at the time) with a Mazda 323 GTX. His first collaboration with Mazda came naturally at the Rally Finland. Mäkinen impressed, giving the 323 Gr.A its best ever WRC result, a fifth-place finish! The legend of the flying Finn is born!
