Before dominating everything in the WRC between 2003 and 2013, Citroën and its competition subsidiary had been struggling for several decades. The proof was in the 1980s, when Citroën entered rallying with a Group B that didn't look like a Gr.B! The Visa '1000 Pistes' is a Visa GT Tronic designed for the World Rally Championship. Although the car only develops 112 bhp (rising to 145 bhp in the 'EVO' version), it is one of the rare cars to offer four-wheel drive! Produced in a production run of 200 to validate its FIA homologation, the 1000 Pistes is a rare gem, even if its record of success in competition is virtually unblemished. Here, it’s a model driven by Christian Dorche at Rally Monte-Carlo 1987.
