The Saviem SB2 is the Traction version of the SG2, which was also produced as a Renault. Its history is closely linked to the Alpine’s time as a competitive car. As a workshop on wheels, it assisted the Alpine teams in the championships, much like with this version in the Armor rally of 1974. This Alpine A310 is the competitive version of the French GT that followed the popular berlinette. It too saw a long and prosperous career in rallying, following in the footsteps of its predecessor. Its innovative style with its headlights protected by a glass roofing symbolised the French GT of the Seventies. At the end of the race the Saviem would, with its tractable 2150 kg, come back to the workshop, or head to the next race.
