To replace the Scirocco, Volkswagen launched the Corrado at the end of the 1980s. It was a new sporty coupé based on the Golf II platform. At the time of its release, this car was the most expensive model in the German brand’s lineup. A few years after its launch, Volkswagen introduced an even sportier version of its coupé: the VR6. With its 190-horsepower six-cylinder engine, the compact coupé could reach 235 km/h, outperforming its Japanese rivals. The Corrado did not achieve the expected commercial success, which has since made it a true collector’s item. The OT1203 is a 1/18-scale miniature, made of resin, with no opening parts. This scale model reproduces the Volkswagen Corrado VR6, a sporty coupé renowned for its design and six-cylinder engine.
