The M35 was supposed to allow Citroën to develop and perfect its rotary engine, thanks to its chosen clients (who had to do at least 30.000 km per year), and give feedback to the manufacturer. However, the love story was cut short after a number of problems arose: excessive use, reliability of the rotary engine, dealers finding it impossible to maintain such a specific model… Citroën ended up buying back all the models on the market and destroying them.
