In 1985, the competition was fierce for the Tour de Corse, fifth round of the world rally championship and fourth round of the championship of France. Unlucky from the get-go with the legendary Renault Maxi 5 Turbo, Jean Ragnotti was not favorite to win in Corsica. And yet, Jeannot triumphed over Timo Salonen (world champion in è85), Markku Alén, Walter Röhrl and Ari Vatanen, all forced to forfeit. Still remaining though where the French big wigs including Bruno Saby and his Peugeot 205 T16 Evo 2. Unimpressed, Jean Ragnotti clinched his second victory in Corsica and his first success behind the wheel of the Maxi Turbo!
