Brittany is not the biggest rally ground in France; the most beautiful of French regions (yes, yes!) prefers Rallycross to Rally. However, in the 1960s and 1970s there were more rally events there than today. At the time, one of the most famous was the "Ronde d´Armor" or also "Rallye de l'Ouest-Armor" organized around St Brieuc. This event even had the chance to count for the French rally championship on several occasions. The greatest French pilots have come to the Côtes du Nord (former name of the Côtes d´Armor) to demonstrate the full extent of their piloting skills. In 1976, Bruno Saby took part in it with his black Alpine A110 “Squale”. Unfortunately, the result did not match the height his ambitions. And this, like his entire 1976 season, was punctuated by many forfeits.
