In 1981, after 5 years of dedicated service, the Ford Fiesta Mk1 undergoes a subtle restyling and, around the same time, appears the first XR2 with a 1.6 litre engine extending to 83hp fed by a Weber double bodied carburettor, allowing a maximum speed of 170km/h. Equipped with round head lights, enlargened wings, a spoiler, sports seats, rev counter and 13" alloy rims. She displays 'XR2' printed on her sides.
