It was in 1980 that the Visa series was first redesigned for rally-driving. The project was studied in depth from several angles, but eventually it was a Visa 4x4 with a front engine that was chosen. To ratify the car it was produced to the tune of 200 units. Engaged in group during the 53rd Monte Carlo Rally of 1985, the small Visa took on the behemoths of the world championships. Jean-Claud Andruet, following a challenging race, ended up in 8th place, proving once and for all that the Visa, “Ca décoiffe” (the slogan for the brand at the time; loosely translating as “It rocks”).
