Over the last 10 years now, Renault Sport has continued to release upgrades to its Megane allowing it to remain on top of the sport compact category. The New Mégane Renaultsport 275 Trophy-R laps the Nürburgring Nordschleife (Germany) in just 7’54’’36, the fastest time ever for a front-wheel drive production car, driven by Laurent Hurgon. With the Renault Sport 2.0T engine and a horsepower of 275 hp, this car is fast! Intended for high-performance driving on the track, it gained in speed by removing about 100 kg worth of standards such as the air conditioning, radio system, and the rear seats. A special release was announced so that collectors would have the opportunity to drive one themselves but with only 250 cars produced, one can understand why they went quickly, despite a very high price tag (45,000 €).
