Marketed from 1992 onwards, the Safrane was Renault's luxury road sedan. In the first months of 1994, a sportier version, the Bi-Turbo, was released. The objective here was to compete with German sedans as powerful as they were luxurious. This version of the Safrane saw 806 units produced, half of which were for the French market. The engine, a turbocharged V6, was adapted to the sedan with the help of Hartge, the German car designer!
